A Republican elected official in Maine actually said this. But what war on women? (via whitegirlpolitickin)
I think this is something I’m going to point people to when I tell them that the pro-life position is directly related to rape culture.
I get stressed about my place in the future but then I remember I am only 19 and have so much life ahead of me. The best parts haven’t come yet. I can make mistakes and still be on a track for success.
I can’t wait to be 21 and do my partying legally until I’m so tired I can’t stand another second. I can’t wait to be 30 and maybe a mom and hopefully a successful professional. I can’t wait to accept my kids as whoever they want to be, and to never shame them, and to teach them respect for others too. I can’t wait to be 65 and retired and on a plane traveling to all the places I haven’t already seen. I can’t wait to be 85 and drinking Irish coffee every morning and teaching my grandchildren curse words and napping whenever I want.
I hope I’m always passionate for the people I choose to be with, that love is always easy and never a burden. I hope I do my best in a career that I enjoy. I hope I change someone’s life for the better. I hope the people I love always know that I would do anything for them above myself, and that is how I want to be remembered.
